Light Laboratory

Our Photo-Radiometry laboratory is accredited for many quantities, the most common are:

  • Illuminance (lux): Calibration of luxmeters and illuminancemeters. The calibration is performed by comparison with a reference standard: An Illuminat A is used as source. An optical bench allow, varying the distance source-illuminancemeter, the variation of illuminance value from 2.5lux  to 4000 lux.
  • Luminance (cd/m2): Calibration of Luminance meters performed using our integrating sphere reference standard.
  • Radiometry (UVA): Calibration of UVA broadband radiometers. The calibration is performed using monochromatic light at 365 nm and a reference standard radiometer.
  • Radiometry (UVB): Calibration of UVB broadband radiometers. The calibration is performed using monochromatic light at 311 nm and a reference standard radiometer.
  • Radiometry (UVC):   Calibration of UVC broadband radiometers. The calibration is performed using monochromatic light at 254 nm and a reference standard radiometer.
  • Solar Irradiance Sensitivity (W/m2): calibration of pyranometers  The calibration is performed according to ISO 9847 standard method IIc.
  • Spectral Sensitivity (nm): Photodiodes spectral responsivity in the 200 nm-1650 nm band. The calibration is performed by comparison with a reference standard photodiode using monochromatic light from a double monochromator.
  • Spectral Irradiance (W m-2 nm-1): Lamps spectral irradiance calibration in the 200nm-800nm spectral range.
  • Spectral Radiance (W m-2 nm-1 sr-1): Lamps/sphere spectral radiance calibration in the 300nm-800nm spectral range.
  • Luminosity Intensity (cd).
  • Correlated Coloured Temperature K.
  • Cosine response (angular response)

Our equipment includes state of the art double monocromator mounted on optical table, optical bench, many different source to fully characterize radiometers and source.

Our primary standard, calibrated by the National Metrological Institute, guarantee the metrological traceability of our measurements.
